Battlegrounds Mobile India, popularly known as BGMI, has made its return to the Google Play Store after being banned for almost 10 months. While the game's page is visible, players cannot currently access and play it. Users can find the game either through Google Search or by visiting the official BGMI website, where they can click on the Play button and be directed to the download page. However, the servers are currently offline, causing issues for players trying to go online.
KRAFTON, the developer of BGMI, released an official statement regarding the situation. They acknowledged that the closed test track for the game was updated, and those who had opted for the public test were expected to receive a message redirecting them to the Play Store for the download. However, due to a technical error, the download link does not work, affecting both closed test participants and other users. KRAFTON is actively working on resolving this issue.
Although players can download the game, they still face the challenge of the servers being offline. The ban on BGMI was lifted recently, and KRAFTON announced the news, expressing gratitude to the Indian authorities for allowing the game's operations to resume. The CEO of KRAFTON, Sean Hyunil Sohn, thanked the Indian gaming community for their support and patience during the ban and expressed excitement about welcoming players back to the platform. He highlighted KRAFTON's commitment to the Indian gaming ecosystem, emphasizing their India-first approach, investments in the local industry, collaborations with developers, and promotion of innovative technologies.
Vibhor Kukreti, Head of Government Affairs at KRAFTON, Inc. India, also expressed appreciation to the authorities for permitting the restart of BGMI operations. KRAFTON aims to be a responsible organization, complying with the law and implementing measures to ensure regulatory compliance. They strive to support and promote the growth of the gaming ecosystem in India.
